About Carol

Carol Cook, Ph.D., E-RYT

I began teaching yoga in 2001, inspired by the extraordinary Iyengar teachers with whom I have been fortunate enough to study: Kevin Gardner, Mary Dunn, Dean & Rebecca Lerner, and Matt Dreyfus. From all these teachers I learned the value of honing my attention, developing a keener sense of how my body works and what it can do. The value of practicing a form of yoga that prioritizes precise alignment is that it fosters concentration and sensitivity, and these qualities, in turn, give rise to the inner stillness that is the ultimate aspiration of yoga.

In my classes, I aim to provide an experience of playful exploration, good humor, and discovery for students of all levels.
